Salgaocar SC has emerged as leaders of Group II garnering full 6 points, a press release issued by the Salcaocars said. They had earlier defeated Tripura Football Club, Agartala by similar margin.
Twenty Teams from all over India are participating in this National tournament being held between May 20 and 24. However, Morning Star Football club from Mizoram was disqualified for fielding over-age players, reducing the number of teams to 19.
Salgaocar SC will now play in the quarter finals to be held on 23rd May. The other teams in Group II are East Bengal, United Sikkim FC, Shillong Lajong, Tripura FC, Sambhalpur Football Academy, SCPT Calicut, Youth Sporting Club & Shimla Youngs. Salgaocar Sports Club is the only team participating from Goa, the press release said.
