The series will be Zimbabwe's first international visit to their neighbours since 2005.
"Zimbabwe have a much stronger side than the last one to visit us.
“This was borne out by their recent 4-1 victory over Kenya and the Proteas can expect some tough opposition," CSA CEO Gerald Majola said in a statement.
"Part of our commitment to the International Cricket Council is to promote and advance cricket throughout the African continent," he added.
