40 people have taken ill after consuming food in Mysuru

More than 40 people have taken ill after consuming food at a wedding function at Bherya village in KR Nagar taluk in Mysuru on Sunday night.

This includes 18 Children who complained of vomiting and diarrhoea. Those who took ill were first treated at the taluk hospital. Around 30 patients have been shifted to K R Hospital in Mysuru and 18 Children to Cheluvamba hospital.

District health officer Dr Venkatesh said it may be a case of food poisoning or drinking polluted water. All are out of danger and are stable, he said.
