5 killed as MUV colldes with lorry near Chitradurga

Five people from Gokak taluk in Belagavi district were killed when the MUV in which they were travelling collided head-on with a lorry loaded with iron materials at Seebara on the outskirts of the city in the wee hours of Monday.

There were 13 people in the Cruiser and they were all returning home aftera trip to Mysuru.

The deceased are Siddarth Munyal, Rakesh Bahubali Jain, Shivaling Kakanur, Vinod Hallur and the MUV driver Suresh, all in their 20s.

The seriously injured have been admitted to a Davangere hospital and the rest are undergoing treatment at the district hospital.

District Superintendent of Police Srinath Joshi, ASP Ram Arasiddi and other officers visited the spot. The Chitradurga Rural police have registered a case and are investigation.
