Two women were killed and 11 others suffered serious injuries when the autorickshaw they were travelling in toppled near Ramohalli Gate in Belur taluk of Hassan district on Saturday.
The accident occurred when they were going to Chilkuru village, in Belur Assembly constituency, to cast their votes.
The deceased are Sharadamma (45) and Kamalamma (55). The injured are auto driver Padmesh, Prema, Devaiah, Bharathi, Vidya, Nagaratna, Hemaraju, Ammayamma, Pramila, Lakshegowda and Bhavyashree. The injured have been rushed to the Hassan district hospital.
