In an attempt to bolster its ‘clean’ image, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has roped in two prominent social activists to launch its awareness/poll campaign in Karnataka.

The party will launch its ‘AAP in every home, AAP to every home’ campaign in Bangalore on Friday by projecting veteran freedom fighter H S Doreswamy as its mascot.

On February 9, the party will launch a similar campaign in Raichur, which will be inaugurated by social activist S R Hiremath.

AAP members said the party would start a door-to-door survey for preparing constituency-specific manifestos in all the 28 constituencies of the State.

“The survey will have open-ended questions on the problems people face in each of the 30 districts in the State. This will give us an exact picture of the issues which need to be addressed in every constituency,” said AAP member Siddharth.

AAP will deploy volunteers for collecting the survey responses. It will also interact with farmers and their associations.

On the candidates likely to contest from the State, the AAP members said the party had been receiving names from several corners of Karnataka. The party has extended the time frame till February 15 for people to send their names. It will post the names of the candidates online once the aspirants send their applications.
