Speaking at the Karnataka Bhovi Welfare Association’s 33rd students merit awards distribution ceremony on Sunday, the minister said what the students need are teachers who can teach them science and mathematics, so that they can improve their percentage.
The country needed more scientists and it is the basic science which lays the foundation for the future scientists, said Limbavali. The minister urged the students of Bhovi community to pursue their studies despite financial hurdles. The State government has numerous programmes and welfare schemes, which the students hailing from backward classes can avail of.
"Students from the backward communities must pursue higher education and not feel inferior in fighting for their basic rights. Education alone can empower the Bhovi community,” said Aravind Limbavali. On the occasion over 359 students from medicine, engineering courses , post graduates, under graduates, diploma holders, students with doctorate, PUC and SSLC students were felicitated. S Raghu, MLA and Karnataka Bhovi Welfare Association President Manjunatha Prasad, Commissioner of Social Welfare Department were present on the occasion.
