BJP announces statewide protest

The BJP will hold statewide agitation on Wednesday on a host of issues concerning the state, including Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy’s controversial remark on a woman farmer.

“We will stage protests at all taluk and district centres underlining issues before the state, as well as the ensuing cane growers’ problems,” BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa said.

The saffron party will decide, at its core committee meeting on Tuesday evening, on holding a massive protest ahead of the winter session of the legislature by bringing together lakhs of farmers, Yeddyurappa added.

Lashing out at Kumaraswamy and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda, Yeddyurappa termed the father-son duo as “the most opportunist politicians in the country.”

He said they both were synonymous for “betrayal.”
