A section of BJP legislators including ministers Basavaraj Bommai, Murgesh Nirani and Umesh Katti are understood to have decided to meet in Bangalore on Friday to take a final decision on joining the KJP.

According to KJP sources, these legislators have informed KJP chief B S  Yeddyurappa that they would convey their decision about their political move shortly. They are caught between their loyalty to Yeddyurappa and the BJP. However, none of the ministers were available for comments.

Speaking to reporters in Bangalore on Wednesday Yeddyurappa claimed after the debacle of the BJP in the civic polls, several leaders had started meeting him evincing interest in joining his party.

“We will soon hold a convention wherein leaders from various parties including the BJP and the BSR Congress would join the KJP,” Yeddyurappa said. The party leaders will launch a five-day tour programme campaigning for the assembly polls in four teams from March 19.
Former JD(S) legislator of Kollegal S Balraj and sitting BJP MLC K R Mallikarjunappa joined the KJP on Wednesday.
