Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Thursday said that the BJP was ready to find a solution to the Cauvery River water sharing issue.

He was canvassing for party candidate Bhookahalli Manju.

Gadkari said that if the BJP came to power in the state, it would be easy to find a solution to the Cauvery issue.

He said the Centre had taken necessary measures to ensure that the Godavari River water is not wasted in Andhra Pradesh. “The same method will be adopted in Karnataka. We will hold talks with the representatives of the states concerned and address the issue.”

The minister said the Centre had released Rs 7,000 crore for developing the Mysuru-Bengaluru national highway. “Tenders have already been floated and the works will begin soon.”
