Last Updated 02 May 2018, 04:47 IST

B J Puttaswamy, president of the backward classes wing of the BJP, said on Tuesday that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had looted the treasury of the state through his different Bhagya schemes.

He was addressing a press conference in the city. Puttaswamy said 84.58 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of rice had been released from the Centre to the state till November 2017. Of this, 25% of the rice had been sold illegally. The evidence is in the form of the lorry loads of the grain seized, he said.

Similar is the case with the 13.11 lakh MT of wheat and the 3.39 lakh MT of ragi released to the state from the Centre. A total of 55,999 tonnes of rice are rotting in the godowns, reflecting the negligence on the part of the chief minister, Puttaswamy said.
