AAP launches membership drive in DK

Aam Aadmi Party launched its membership campaign in Dakshina Kannada district on Wednesday.

Addressing mediapersons in Mangaluru on Wednesday, State Co Convenor for Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, Shantala Damle said that the AAP had been conducting a campaign for bribe-free Karnataka successfully.

“The party bats for an able and corruption-free Lokayukta. AAP played a significant role in the fights against the earlier Lokayukta. The party has also taken out campaigns for Kalasa Banduri project. We are actively involved in finding a solution for the garbage crisis too,” she said and added that the party would continue to involve itself in similar campaigns in the coming days.

As  part of the membership drive, the party workers will visit households showcasing the achievements of the Delhi government.

Damle further said that the AAP government in Delhi led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, had taken steps for the supply of free water up to 20,000 litre and has also cut power tariff. The protection of women is one of the priorities. Health sector is given due importance, by establishing Mohalla clinics.

In the district, the party will raise the issues related to drinking water, road and rail transport and environment.

Dakshina Kannada district media coordinator Rajendra Prasad, Circle Coordinator Jaya Prakash Rao, and party worker Rohan Shirine were present on the occasion.
