Mysuru Bishop Rev Dr Thomas Vayapalli said knowledge should be put to good use and education should make a person a good citizen. He was speaking at the inauguration of the building of the Good Shepherd School at Ammatti here recently.
He said, “Today, some graduates and government employees are using their education to make money through inappropriate means. Corrupt people cannot develop the society. The education, which does not refine one’s character, is useless,” he remarked.
He lauded the efforts made by the Christian missionaries towards education and literature across the world. The Bishop called upon students to cultivate human values.
Entrepreneur and school alumnus P M Devaraya was felicitated on the occasion. School Principal Sr Isabella and others were present. The school is celebrating its silver jubilee.
