Heavy rain in Chikkaballapur

A number of roads in the City was inundated due to heavy downpour throughout the night.
Moreover, residents of houses located in low-lying areas had sleepless nights, as they had to drain the rainwater that flooded their homes.

Construction

Though roads have been dug up for construction of stormwater drains in the City, due to sub-standard work, crushed stones, tar and other materials used for construction work have failed and given away.

Moreover, the road in front of the City Municipal Council too is not spared of sub-standard work.

Vehicles stuck

In the rain that lashed the City last night, several vehicles got stuck in potholes filled with rainwater.

“If only the authorities concerned had constructed and maintained stormwater drains in the City, such situation during the rain could have been averted,” said residents of the City.

Residents alleged that construction of drains should be plannes accordingly.
