The pre-university college lecturers in the state have threatened to boycott the evaluation of supplementary examination answer scripts if their dues are not cleared.

The association of pre-university lecturers has said that they will approach the Department of Pre-University Education officials in this regard.

Thimayya Purle, president of the Karnataka State Pre-university College Lecturers’ Association, said that the lecturers, who evaluated the answer scripts of the examination conducted in March have not been paid their dues yet.

“About 15,000 lecturers took part in the evaluation process. Out of this, only 2,000 have been paid the money. The others have been trying to reach out to the department, but have not received the money,” he said.

“We will not participate in the supplementary exam answer scripts’ evaluation process if the money is not disbursed,” he added.

He claimed that the department has forged the numbers of lecturers whose dues were cleared on paper. “In reality, most of us have not received the money,” he said.

The department officials were unavailable for comment.
