The only BJP MLA elected from Kollegal Assembly  constituency has identified in rebel camp and his support for no confidence motion has drawn flak from local party workers. The BJP workers of Kollegal and Santhemarahalli staged protest against MLA Nanjundaswamy.

Besides, dismissal of Animal Husbandry Minister P M Narendraswamy who was appointed as district in-charge minister has further affected development works to some extent. After Halappa, the government had not appointed anybody as in-charge minister of the district.

The construction of VIP building at Travellers Bungalow, Zilla Panchayat Hall have never been inaugurated so far. The people are reeling under severe drinking water crisis but the district administration had not taken any steps in this direction.

People are angry that no minister has bothered to visit the district to hear their grievances. The district has around 49 per cent of forests. The region is known for growing turmeric but now buyers are going to Tamil Nadu to sell it. The turmeric growers are unhappy over negligent attitude of the elected representatives.

The ground water table in several villages of Harave and Kuderu hoblis has dipped to 700 feet. The long pending demand of supplying water from the Kabini river to 206 villages is yet to be fulfilled. The government has earmarked Rs 100 crore but the amount is yet to be utilised.

In the previous ID celebrations, Narendraswamy had promised to implement the project by September, but now he has been removed from the ministry on charges of anti-party activities.

The government’s announcement of releasing more grants for the establishment of turmeric market has still remained on paper.
