An engineering student from Davanagere has topped the list of rank holders of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). Suchitra N, student of Jain Institute of Technology (JIT), Davangere has emerged as the golden girl by bagging the highest of nine gold medals to secure the first rank.

Suchitra stands first in the civil engineering discipline and has also secured the highest marks in subject “Irrigation Engineering and Hydraulic Structures” in sixth semester. Madhushree S R of Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology, Davangere has secured the second highest number of gold medals, secured highest percentage of marks in under graduate/Bachelor of Engineering among SC/ST students and highest marks in BE civil engineering. Meghana Prakash of Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, Mysuru has also bagged six gold medals with 1st rank in Electronics and Communication Engineering and highest marks among the rankholders in any branch of engineering.

Supreeetha M of Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bengaluru, has secured first rank in BE Mechanical Engineering and secured five gold medals. Jeevitha S of Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, Mysuru has bagged first rank in BE Electrical and Electronics Engineering and bagged five gold medals. Pavithree Shetty has bagged four gold medals having secured first rank in BE Computer Science and Engineering, while Manasa R of R N S Institute of Technology, Bengaluru also bagged four gold medals for having secured the first rank, highest aggregate marks in last for semester in BE Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.

Pavithra C N of R N S Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, has bagged four gold medals and secured first rank with highest marks in Master of Business Administration. Sukanya P of C M R Institute of Technology, Kundal and Shahanaaz Harshi of AM C Engineering College, Bengaluru have bagged three gold medal each and secured first rank in Master of Computer Applications and in Power Systems Engineering MTech respectively.

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) will hold its 18th annual convocation at 10 am on March 18 (Monday) at ‘Jnana Sangama,’ the university headquarters here.
