Last Updated 23 August 2010, 17:52 IST

Water entered houses in low-lying areas like Anna Nagar, Tipu Nagar and Kumbaragundi in the city. Power supply was cut-off in many localities as electric poles were uprooted due to heavy wind. The rain forced the people to remain indoors for more than four hours.

Hosanagar, Tirthahalli and Agumbe also have received good rain in the evening. Inflow to Linganamakki reservoir has depleted to 5,812 cusec from 15,470 cusec owing to poor rain in catchment areas.

Water level here has reached 1,795.80 feet against the maximum level of 1,819 feet. Bhadra reservoir had 170.1 feet water with 5,334 cusec inflow.
