MLA L Nagendra said that the BJP leaders have requested Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa to announce Rs 500 crore in the budget for Mysuru, to take up development works.
Nagendra said that the party MLAs, District In-charge Minister S T Somashekar, and Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Chairman H V Rajeev have requested the state government to earmark a minimum of Rs 500 crore for Mysuru for various development works.
“We have asked to announce funds for the development of Mysuru airport in Mandakalli, KR Hospital, establishment of film city in Mysuru, to take up works of the dilapidated Devaraja Market and Lansdowne Building among others. The film city is shifted to Bengaluru, but we have urged to develop it in Mysuru itself," he said.
The MLA said, "Rs 5.5 crore was sought for the works of Mysuru Medical College Hostel. In addition, funds are demanded to construct a compound to Maharaja’s and Maharani’s colleges."
