Police seized timber worth Rs 50,000, which was being illegally transported to Kannur from Jakkanahalli, and arrested two persons, here, on Friday night.
Kashi Gopal of Alekatte and Dharmappa of Yadavare were arrested and the vehicle used for transportation was seized.
The duo was transporting 20 logs of ‘Analthari’ tree without license to Kerala, when they were intercepted, following a tip-off.
Probationary DySP Anupama Shenoy led the operation, conducted by Somwarpet police station Sub-Inspector S S Ravikiran and others.
