Preference to locals in local body polls: Kodagu DCC chief

District Congress Committee (DCC) In-charge President T P Ramesh said the party will prefer local candidates for the upcoming Taluk and Zilla Panchayat elections. The aspirants must submit their applications to the Block Presidents before January 12, he stated. 

Addressing media persons here on Friday, he said candidates from outside will be considered if there are no suitable local candidates.If the aspirants are in large numbers, mediation talks will be held by the party. The final decision will be made by the election committee headed by the district in-charge minister,
Ramesh added.

Ramesh said that the defeat of the party candidate H S Chandramauli in the Legislative elections was discussed at an internal meeting of the party.

Introspection was done and it was decided to work more actively in the next elections, he added.

Chandramauli will meet party workers and thank them on January 9 and 10. He will visit Siddapur at 10.30 am, Maldare at 12 noon, Chennaiahkote at 12.30 pm, Palibetta at 1 pm, Hosuru at 2.30 pm, Ammatti Karmadu at 3.30 pm, Kannangala at 4.30 pm and Halugunda at 5.30 pm on January 9.

Similarly, he will visit Sampaje at 10.30 am, Bhagamandala at 12.30 pm, Kakkabbe at 3 pm and Napoklu at 5 pm to meet party workers on January 10, Ramesh said.

Recieving of complaints
Complaints will be received from public on every Mondays and Fridays at the party office in Madikeri.

The general public, who want to get assistance from the government, may submit their applications, he said and added that he will try to
solve the problems by consulting the district in-charge minister.
