Rain subsides in Kodagu

After lashing the district for about a week damaging agriculture crops, public properties, rains on Saturday subsided.

Madikeri, Napoklu, Sampaje, Bhagamandala, Virajpet, Hudikeri, Srimangala, Ponnampet, Ammathi, Balele, Somwarpet, Shanivarasanthe, Shanthalli, Kodlipete, Kushalnagar, Shuntikoppa experienced drizzling.

A house belonging to Abdulla was damaged in the rain, at Alagunda village in Virajpet taluk.
Kodagu district received an average of 43.88 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours.

It was 39.85 mm during the corresponding period last year. The district has recorded 2,156.75 mm rainfall since January.

The rainfall in other hoblis are as follows: Madikeri kasaba—51.2 mm, Napoklu—32.4 mm, Sampaje—68.6 mm, Bhagamandala—83.8 mm, Virajpet kasaba—41.8 mm, Hudikeri—38.1 mm, Srimangala—31 mm, Ponnampet—40.2 mm, Ammathi—31 mm, Balale—24 mm, Shanthalli—104.6 mm, Kodlipete—34 mm and Suntikoppa—30.2 mm.

Chikmagalur

Heavy rainfall continued to lash across Mudigere taluk. Electric poles have been damaged in the rain.
A house belonging to Jithendra was damaged partially. As a result household articles have also been damaged. Mudslide was reported at Guddahatti, Devarunda villages. Coffee, pepper growers are fearing loss of crops following rainfall.

A house was damaged when a rock fell on it, at Kalavase. The house belongs to Gangaiah. ZP President Rekha Huliyappa Gowda visited the spot and promised to sanction a house under Indira Awaz Yojane.
