Former chief minister and JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy has said that his goal was to ensure a JD(S) government in the state, without support from any other party, reports DHNS from Channapatna.

Addressing an election rally in Channapatna on Sunday, Kumaraswamy said that he was sure about JD(S) coming to power in the state this time. He said that formation of Cauvery Management Board would hit the state's projects and hence Deve Gowda had brought pressure on the Centre to defer the plan. He said that the JD(S), if voted to power, would waive the loans borrowed by farmers and women self-help groups and lay emphasis on adopting technology in agriculture. "We also plan to introduce a monthly pension of Rs 5,000 to senior citizens," Kumaraswamy added.
