Malpe Fishermen's Association President Sathish Kunder said that 63 days have passed since the fishing boat ‘Suvarna Tribhuja’ went missing. There is no clarity on the missing boat.

“If the government fails to search the missing boat, then fishermen will gherao INS Kochi ship, stationed at Karwar.”

Speaking to reporters after meeting Udupi SP along with family of missing fishermen, he expressed displeasure at the search operation.

“INS Kochi was damaged on the day the boat Suvarna Thribhuja went missing. The officials in the past had stated that part of the boat had hit Navy ship. Now, they are stating that the wreckage found beneath the sea is a rock and does not belong to any boat.”

“Fishermen feel that the officials are hiding the truth in connection with missing boat. Defence minister should tell the truth to fishermen family. A search operation by involving Navy, police, and fishermen should be carried out,” Kunder demanded.
