Prakruthi Vikopa Santrasthara Horata Samiti president M B Devaiah said that the flood victims will stage a dharna in front of the DC’s office on December 14, urging the fulfilment of various demands.

Addressing reporters in Madikeri on Wednesday, he said that the chief minister has not provided attention towards fulfilling the demands of the flood victims other than building houses.

Several trees were uprooted during the natural calamity. The plantation owners should be allowed to transport the timber. Even though the DC had assured of chairing a meeting in this regard, no action has been taken yet, said Devaiah.

“The government has made preparations for building houses for victims on 45 cents of land. But the site is not sufficient for farmers as they have to keep various agricultural equipment and vehicles.

Samiti leaders Shanteynada Ravi Kushalappa, K T Prasanna, Balachandra Kalagi, Surendra Takeri and Arvind were present in the press meet.
