Man poisons daughter, ends life

A man committed suicide after poisoning his daughter to death at an apartment in Vivekanagara in B C Road on Saturday.

According to the police, the deceased are Prabhakar (46) and his daughter Pranamya (9). His wife Hemavathi too had consumed poison. However, the locals rushed her to private hospital, where she is recuperating.

Pranamya was studying in class 4 at SVS English Medium School and had not attended her annual exam on Saturday.

Prabhakar was working abroad and later started his own business. Due to financial crisis two years ago, he had sold his house and was staying in a rented house at Vivekanagara and was working in a private finance institution in Mangaluru.
