Upset over being denied a ministerial berth, veteran Congress leader Shamanur Shivashankarappa expressed his anguish saying that only the loyalists of Coalition Coordination Committee chairman Siddaramaiah and AICC state in-charge K C Venugopal were inducted into Kumaraswamy’s
ministry.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Shivashankarappa said, “In today’s political scenario only sycophants can thrive. The leaders want them around. Ramalinga Reddy, B C Patil and I, failed to make the cut because we don’t do it. Hence,
we are ignored.”
Suggestion
To a query whether the legislators, who missed the bus, have approached him, Shivashankarappa said, “No one has approached me. If asked, I will suggest the disappointed legislators hold a meeting and discuss their next
move.”
“If Lingayats are neglected, Siddaramaiah will meet the same fate he had met at Chamundeshwari Assembly constituency. He was humiliated at his home turf, where he lost by a margin of 60,000 votes. If they (Congress leadership) fail to mend their ways, the party may face problems in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls,” he warned.
