Senor Congress leader and former Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan on Friday accused the Central government of being anti-farmer and said it had “failed” to fulfil any of the promises made to farmers.
The BJP had promised to double the income of the farming community within one year of coming to power. But farmers continue to be in distress even after three years. As a result, farmers are resorting to suicide. Instead of taking measures for their welfare, farmers are being killed, he told reporters here.
The government has “miserably failed” in creating jobs. Modi had promised to create one crore jobs every year. But he has failed. Youth are losing jobs because of the wrong economic policies of the Union government. Modi’s achievement in the past three years is zero, he said.
