Plea against nod to Manjegowda's resignation

The High Court, on Thursday, granted liberty to the petitioners to approach the vacation bench while hearing a petition challenging the acceptance of resignation of B P Manjegowda, the transport department officer and president, State Government Employees Association.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice Dinesh Kumar were hearing a petition filed by D R Narayana Swamy, a resident of Hassan and four others.

Manjegowda is the Congress candidate from Holenarasipur constituency in Hassan district. The government accepted Manjegowda's resignation despite several the serious charges levelled against him.

The petitioners have said that the acceptance of resignation by the government was unlawful.
