A Professor of a college attached to the University of Agricultural Science, Raichur, has been suspended for three months for campaigning for a Congress candidate.
Jagruthi B Deshamanya, chairperson, Department of Economics, College of Agriculture, Raichur, was suspended by the varsity registrar Jambunath Gutti with immediate effect.
Dr Bagadi Gautham, election officer, conducted an enquiry based on the charge that the professor had expressed opinions in favour of the Congress and against BJP MP B Sriramulu.
He was convinced based on her Facebook account that she was involved in political activities and recommended action against her.
