Rain resumes in Karwar, Shivamogga

Rain resumed in Uttara Kannada and Shivamogga districts on Tuesday while Ballari also received widespread rain.

It rained heavily in Karwar and Mundgod. There were reports of moderate rain in Bhatkal, Honnavar, Kumta, Yellapur, Siddapur and Sirsi. The district recorded a total of 11.8 mm of rain in the 24 hours ending Tuesday 8.30 am.

Moderate to heavy rain lashed various parts of Shivamogga on Tuesday. Water level in Linganamakki dam rose to 1,762.90 feet against the maximum of 1,819 feet.

Ballari district received widespread rain on Tuesday. While it rained for around 30 minutes in Hagaribommanahalli, heavy rain lashed Hosapete for about two hours in the noon. Hagaribommanahalli received rain after a long gap of three months. Hosapete and villages around the town have been receiving rain for the past four days consecutively. There was only drizzle in Sandur. Intermittent rain accompanied by strong winds lashed Kalaburagi and surrounding areas.

Rain receded in Kodagu district. In the last 24 hours (ending Tuesday 8.30 am), the district has received an average of 5.44 mm rainfall. It was 48.69 mm during the corresponding period last year.
