Heavy rain lashed Udupi on Tuesday. Low lying areas are inundated. Also, the outflow from the Krishnarajasagar (KRS) dam into river Cauvery was increased due to heavy inflow into the river.

Water from the Kubjaa stream entered the Kamalashile Sri Brahmi Durgaparameshwari Temple at Kamalashile, in Kundapur of Udupi District.

Water entered the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and devotees were seen standing in flooded water.

Water flooded paddy fields in different parts of Udupi district. A few houses are inundated near Barkur Bridge. Farmland at Uppooru is marooned. The Uppooru government school is flooded too.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy reached Kukke Subrahmanya Temple at 11 am--over two hours behind schedule. The CM and his family who were on their way to the temple were delayed due to landslides enroute.

The CM will offer Ashlesha Pooja and Maha Pooja to the presiding deity.
