Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president Dinesh Gundu Rao and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah are likely to meet Congress president Rahul Gandhi here on Monday.
The two leaders, who were here to attend the Congress Working Committee meeting, are likely discuss the political developments in Karnataka. Filling up of vacant Cabinet berths and appointment of chiefs to boards and corporations may also come up for discussion, sources said. The leaders are likely to give their feedback to Rahul on the Congress-JD(S) alliance in Karnataka and the party’s prospects in the state.
The meeting with the Congress president assumes significance as a large number of leaders, mostly ex-MLAs, have expressed their unhappiness over the alliance.
Siddaramaiah, who is also the chairman of the coalition co-ordination and monitoring committee, recently landed in a row following a leaked video in which he purportedly expressed doubts about the continuity of the alliance with the JD(S) after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
