Former prime minister and JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda has alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was making every effort to “finish off” his party, the JD(S).

Addressing a poll campaign in Raichur on Sunday, Deve Gowda said that the BJP and the Congress were targeting the JD(S) in their own ways but Siddaramaiah was particular about destroying the JD(S).

“Siddaramaiah, who was nurtured in the JD(S) and went on to become a chief minister, has decided to strike at our party by drawing seven legislators. He has changed a day after Narendra Modi spoke good about me,” he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks about development of Karnataka, but what is his contribution for the development of Raichur district, Deve Gowda sought to know.

“I have ensured implementation of Narayanapura right canal project for providing irrigation to the district,”
he added.
