SIT summons 6 from Belagavi for inquiry

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh has reportedly interrogated six persons associated with Hindu outfits from the city and surrounding areas.

They have been asked to report before it for further inquiry in Bengaluru before October 8.

One of the suspects, Sharad Kalaskar, arrested from Maharashtra, had been brought to the city during the weekend for investigation.

He was brought before the six persons from the city, so that he can identify the persons who had driven the vehicles during training conducted prior to the murder, and in Bengaluru after the act was conducted, sources said.

Among the six persons, he is said to have named one of the them.

Interrogation was conducted in a hotel during the day.

In the evening, the six persons, who are said to be residents of Vadgaon suburb in the city and Muchani and Kalkhamb villages in the taluk, were let go with notices being issued to them to come to Bengaluru for inquiry before October 8, sources said.
