Amid differences between JD(S) and Congress leaders on a host of issues, former prime minister and JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda said on Wednesday that there was no threat to the coalition government in Karnataka.

“Kumaraswamy will present the budget on July 5. There is no cause for any anxiety. The budget will get passed on July 12,” Gowda told reporters.

Gowda, who was in New Delhi to attend Parliamentary Standing Committee meeting on Defence, said that there was no threat to the government. “There is anxiety among you (the media)...now go back with satisfaction.” About former chief minister Siddaramaiah’s opposition to budget presentation, Gowda said, “Let there be no discussion on this (topic). The budget will be presented and the matter ends.”
