ULB polls: counting of votes today

The counting of votes for 102 urban local bodies and three city corporations will be taken up on Monday. These ULBs went to polls on August 31.

The counting of votes will start at 8 am at jurisdictional district headquarters for city corporations, and jurisdictional taluk headquarters for other ULBs.

All three parties - Congress, BJP and the JD(S) - are hoping to garner maximum number of seats to galvanise the party cadres for Lok Sabha elections.

Though the JD(S) and the Congress are alliance partners in the coalition government, the two decided to fight the ULB polls independently.
