Former External Affairs Minister and BJP leader S M Krishna said on Wednesday that he will remain active in public life for some more years.

“I will remain active in public life. I am keeping a close watch on political developments both at the Centre and the state. A lot of changes are expected in the state politics after May 23,” he told reporters after celebrating his 87th birthday with BJP leaders at his Sadashivanagar residence here.

Krishna was sulking after he joined the BJP after he quit the Congress a few years ago. But the veteran leader campaigned extensively for the BJP candidates in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections in the state.

State BJP president B S Yeddyurappa, who greeted Krishna on his birthday, said Krishna’s campaign in the elections will help the party win more than 22 seats in Karnataka. His campaign has given a big boost to the BJP, he added.
