Truecaller to discontinue call recording feature on iPhones

Popular caller ID detection service provider Truecaller is reportedly planning to discontinue the call recording feature on Apple iPhone.

Several Truecaller users have begun receiving a pop-up message that the call recording feature will be removed by the end of September.

Once the message spread on social media, Truecaller's Product head Nakul Kabra, in an interview with Techcrunch, confirmed that the company will end the call recording feature and focus on improving the speed of detecting the caller IDs, blocking spam and preventing cyber fraud.

The call recording feature, which was introduced in 2023, will go offline on September 30, and Truecaller users will also lose access to the older recordings.

However, users can save the older recording by following the procedure below:

Step 1: Open the Truecaller app >> Call recording >> Storage preference

Step 2: Once you enter storage preference >> switch the option from iPhone storage to iCloud storage.

Truecaller's decision to end the call recording feature will not affect much for iPhone owners, as Apple has activated the native recording feature with the iOS 18 update.
