Asking young couple not to celebrate the Valentine's Day, members of Kranthi Sena Karnataka, and Karnataka Yuva Sena stated that they would arrange 'with consensus' marriage of couples who would be found engaged in obscene or immoral activities in public places on Thursday (February 14).

Kranthi Sena Karnataka president Vittal Pawar stated that the wedding of couples engaged in such activities in parks would be arranged, after getting the permission of them and their parents.

"Parents of such couples would be called to inform them about the act of their children. If they agree, wedding would be arranged in a temple, and it would also be registered. We have already arranged traditional dresses and 'tali' for around 10 weddings. Rs 10,000 would also be given to each couple, after the marriage," Pawar told media persons here on Wednesday.

Even if couples are not ready for the wedding, their parents would come to know about their acts. We have also urged the police commissioner not allow music parties in hotels also on Thursday, he said, adding that the Sena identified three couples last year, and one couple entered into wedlock happily.

The Valentine's Day celebrations of western culture lead to illegitimate relationship, sexual assault, obscene activities, human trafficking, alcoholism, and other activities, Pawar opined.

Prabhudev Hipparagi, Shrinath Pawar, Om Katwe, and others were present.

Bundobust at parks

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police (law and order) Ravindra Gadadi told DH that police personnel would be deployed at parks and other public places, so that no untoward incidents take place.

"We ensure the safety for all law-abiding citizens, and they can visit the parks. Deciding about getting married is the freedom of girl and boy, and nobody can force them. We will take required action to maintain law and order situation, and freedom of citizens, and to avoid unnecessary trouble for anybody," he added.
