Case should be given to NIA: Assam CM on Mizoram FIR amid border row

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reacted to the FIR registered against him by the Mizoram Police. He said that the case should be given to National Investigation Agency (NIA). "The clash took place in the territory of Assam. The jurisdiction lies within the state. But if a case is registered, then it is good. The case should be given to National Investigation Agency (NIA) so that it can investigate it," CM Sarma said. Mizoram Police on July 30 registered an FIR against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and six top police officials on charges of attempt to murder and assault.
