iPhones with TikTok installed get sold for over Rs 8 crore on eBay in US

TikTok remained unavailable on Apple and Google app stores in the US after President Donald Trump signed an executive order delaying the enforcement of a ban on the popular Chinese-owned short-video app by 75 days.

The order came amid growing doubts on the future of the app that went dark, shortly before a law that cited national security to say the Chinese owner ByteDance should sell it or face a ban in the US came into effect on Sunday.

Amidst all this, as per a report by New York Post, there are phone available on eBay that have TikTok already installed in it. The price of those, however, is very surprising.

An iPhone 16 Pro Max that has the app downloaded in it is being sold for $5,000 (Rs 4,31,000) and iPhone 16 Plus for $3,000 (Rs 2,58,600).

One of the ads from North Carolina posted on the platform sells a phone over $1 million, which says, "Screen protector is only damage phone perfect and has TikTok."

TikTok users who deleted the app are strongly willing to buy the phones that have TikTok installed. Meanwhile, many requested on social media platforms to help them buy the phone.

"I deleted TikTok and now I can't get it back! I will pay someone $5,000 for an iPhone 16 Pro Max with TikTok still installed. DM me," a user wrote on X.

Another video shared on X showed the list of phones available for buying on eBay.

On Tuesday, Donald Trump said he was open to billionaire Elon Musk's buying social media app TikTok if the Tesla CEO wanted to do so.

"I would be, if he wanted to buy it," Trump told reporters on Tuesday when asked if he was open to Musk buying the platform.
