‘Congress has surrendered to JD(S) in bypoll’

BJP State president and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa said that Congress had completely surrendered to JD(S) in the byelection in Karnataka.

He told media persons, on arrival at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) on Thursday, that in the alliance between JD(S) and Congress, it is Congress which has surrendered completely to JD(S). In the by-election, the BJP will win with the highest margin in Shimoga and Bellary Lok Sabha constituencies. There is close contest in Ramanagara (Assembly) and Mandya (Lok Sabha) constituencies, he added.

Later, addressing the BJP workers’ convention, at Vandse in Byndoor, as part of Shimoga by-election, he said, “the developmental works have come to a standstill in Karnataka. The financial condition of the state is in poor condition.”

He wondered how Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy could level allegations at Central government when nationalised banks were not co-operating with the state government in implementing loan waiver scheme.

“Prime Minister is not imposing hurdles in the state government’s initiative to waive the loans.”

Shimoga constituency candidate B Y Raghavendra said, “The failure of the state government and the welfare schemes of Central government will help BJP to win the elections. Byndoor constituency has been facing an acute shortage of water. Through lift irrigation from River Varahi, the water crisis in the constituency will be solved in the future.”
