Actor Sruthi Hariharan has moved the High Court of Karnataka, challenging the FIR registered against her by the cyber crime police with regard to the #MeToo controversy involving actor Arjun Sarja.

Sruthi has sought for quashing of the FIR, including the proceedings initiated before a city court based on the said FIR. She has also denied the allegations made in the complaint.

On October 25, Shiva Arjun, manager of Arjun Sarja, had filed a complaint with the cyber crime police, saying that Sarja’s social media accounts were hacked and misused by Sruthi and a few others. The actor had said he was receiving anonymous calls, demanding money.

The cyber crime police had registered the case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and also under the Information Technology Act.

Furthermore, Sarja had moved the high court, seeking quashing of the complaint lodged by Sruthi. The court had directed the Cubbon Park police not to arrest him till
November 14.
