Karnataka on Monday reported 673 new cases of Covid-19, taking the total to 29,62,408. This is the lowest number of daily cases since March. Bengaluru Urban reported 214 and three deaths.
The state recorded 13 new Covid fatalities as the toll reached 37,517. The day also saw 1,074 discharges, taking the total number of recoveries to 29,08,622. As on Sept 13, the state has 16,241 active carriers of the virus. While the positivity rate for the day stood at 0.56 per cent, case fatality rate was 1.93 per cent.
Dakshina Kannada recorded five deaths in the last 24 hours. Belagavi, Bengaluru Rural, Kodagu, Shivamogga and Tumakuru reported one death each. Dakshina Kannada logged highest cases after Bengaluru with 115 new infections followed by Udupi 75 and Hassan 51.
A total of 4,54,13,942 samples have been tested. Of which 1,19,014 were tested on Monday alone. The state failed to meet its daily vaccination target of five lakh yet again. A total of 3,53,759 doses were administered on Monday.
