Newly-appointed Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Lt General (Retd) Anil Chauhan on September 30 laid the wreath at National War Memorial in Delhi. He was appointed as the new CDS on September 28.
He had retired as the Eastern Army Commander in May last year and was serving as the Military Advisor to the National Security Council. Lt General Anil Chauhan will be the 2nd CDS of the country after General Bipin Rawat.
Gen Bipin Rawat died in a helicopter crash in December 2021 in Tamil Nadu.
