2 held for conspiracy to cheat public

The CCB sleuths and Mangaluru North police arrested two persons who were conspiring to cheat public by showing Dirham currency of UAE.

According to DCP (Crime) Uma Prashanth, the arrested are Mohammed Salim (33) and Nasrul Islam (56), both residents of Howrah district in West Bengal.

They were trying to make people believe that they have Dirham currencies worth
Rs 7 lakh by showing a bundle with seven Dirham currencies placed on the top of the bundle, near Ramakanthi Talkies in Mangaluru.

Suspecting their motive, one Ibrahim Alil tried to enquire with them. Later, they fled the spot. The police were successful in arresting the duo.

Derogatory posts: 1 held

The police arrested two persons for allegedly posting derogatory posts with a photograph of a minor girl, who was sexually assaulted by one Akashbhavan Sharan, on social media.

According to the police, the arrested are Nivesh (28), a resident of Someshwara and Durgesh (25), a resident of Udayanagara. The women police station had filed a case under Section 67 (B) of IT Act, Section 14 of Pocso Act and IPC Section 228 (A), against the arrested.

In another case, the Mangaluru police arrested a man for allegedly posting derogatory posts on Malabar Gold on social media. The arrested is Bhujesh. He had tried to spread rumours on Social media. Follwoing the post, Malabar Gold marketing manager had filed a complaint to the Mangaluru South Police Station.

The police arrested Bhujesh at Manjeshwara Kuntagaladka and seized the mobilephone used for posting the post. They are also looking for those who had forwarded the message to him.
