Anganawadi workers threaten to go on protest

Last Updated 02 August 2018, 17:38 IST

Anaganwadi workers have threatened to go on a protest from September 16 if their concerns are not addressed, reports DHNS from Bengaluru.

Speaking to media here on Thursday, B Nagarathna, association secretary, said that they have sought timely salary and also pension for the retired workers. Several anganwadi centres in the state lack basic facilities like drinking water and toilets. Hence, mothers are not keen to send their children.

“We have been told to seek permission from new mothers in the Anganwadi centres before taking leave,” she said.

“We will stage a protest in front of the Town Hall and in the districts as well in individual centres,” she added.
