<p class="bodytext">In the backdrop of the announcement of assembly elections, various committees have been constituted to check violation of the model code of conduct, said Deputy Commissioner P I Sreevidya.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, she said that there are 538 pollings booths in Kodagu district.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Election Commission of India (EC) will use Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) gadgets with Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) during the election.</p>.<p class="bodytext">VVPAT which will be attached to the EVMs will allow voters to verify if their vote has gone to the intended candidate, she explained.</p>.<p class="bodytext">She said that the district has received 807 EVMs, 673 control units, 700 VVPAT.</p>.<p class="bodytext">First round verification of EVMs has been completed in the presence of leaders of various political parties.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Of the polling booths, 12 are identified as Maoist affected areas, and 88 are hypersensitive booths.</p>.<p class="bodytext">During the 2013 assembly election, there were 510 polling booths in the district.</p>.<p class="CrossHead">Voters</p>.<p class="bodytext">The DC said that there are 4,26,004 voters in Kodagu district, of which 2,13,060 are male voters and 2,12,944 are female voters.</p>.<p class="bodytext">During 2013 election, the district had 4,04,186 voters.
