Modi has deal with Gandhis, says AAP

The controversy over the Doordarshan interview of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi prompted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday to allege a “hidden deal between Modi and the Gandhi family.”

The party said that both the Congress and the BJP are “promoting corporate interests”.

In a statement issued on Friday, the AAP said, “The Doordarshan interview of Narendra Modi and editing controversies surrounding it have only confirmed the widespread doubt in the country about a hidden deal between Modi and the Gandhi family.”

The party, interestingly, has chosen to go by the version of Modi, in which he has claimed that political secretary of the Congress president, Ahmed Patel, has been his close friend for a long time.

The AAP considers the spate of desperate denials by Patel to be “merely for public consumption.” According to the AAP, the revelation only proves “the cosy relationship enjoyed by the leaders of the BJP and the Congress, both of whom have been fooling the people of the country.”

According to the AAP, the direct link between the two can be seen in “the Congress-led UPA government’s reluctance to probe the illegal snooping of a young woman by the Narendra Modi government of Gujarat for more than four months and the unjustified delay by the BJP’s Rajasthan government in probing the improper land deals of Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.”
